왜 스코틀랜드 하이랜더인가?
왜 안 되겠어요? 투 핸즈(Two Hands)의 소유주 마이클 트웰프트리는 항상 소를 좋아했고, 기회가 생기자 바로 소를 키울 기회를 잡았습니다. 브루터스는 MT가 어린 시절 가장 좋아했던 만화 아스테릭스에 나오는 캐릭터였는데, 우리의 거친 '털북숭이'에게 딱 맞는 이름이라고 생각했습니다.
하일랜드 소는 온순한 기질을 가지고 있는데, 브루터스와 그의 암소들도 예외는 아닙니다. 하지만 그들은 본래 송아지를 보호하는 데 매우 적극적이며, 먹이를 줄 때는 무리끼리 약간의 말다툼을 벌이기도 합니다. 기록에 따르면 하일랜드 소는 실제로 세계에서 가장 오래된 등록 품종이며, 흥미롭게도 하일랜드 소 무리를 '무리'가 아닌 '우리'라고 부릅니다. 우리 "다섯 마리의 우리"는 넓은 목초지에서 자유롭게 풀을 뜯으며 호화로운 삶을 누립니다. 브루터스와 그의 가족은 특별히 만든 댐에서 수영을 하거나, 홀리 그레일 포도원의 아름다운 경치를 감상하며 한가로이 누워 있는 모습이 자주 목격됩니다.
포도 재배 지원
하이랜더 포도는 포도 폐기물과 빈티지 이후 포도 즙의 100%를 통해 자체 포도원의 토양 건강을 증진하는 데 도움이 됩니다. 이 두 가지는 매년 포도원에 다시 넣는 300톤의 유기퇴비에 기여하여 포도나무의 자연적인 균형을 유지합니다.

저희 맞춤 제작 랜드로버를 타고 포도원 체험을 떠나보세요. 저희 홀리 그레일 포도원은 포도나무와 숨 막힐 듯 아름다운 경치 그 이상의 매력을 지니고 있습니다. 현장에서 홀리 그레일 쉬라즈를 시음하고, 셀러 도어로 돌아가는 길에 브루투스와 그의 시녀들에게 인사를 건네며 전용 시음실에서 시음을 즐겨보세요.
특별 수유 시간
저희 이웃인 세펠츠필드 로드 디스틸러스(Seppeltsfield Road Distillers)는 저희처럼 지속가능성을 중요하게 생각합니다. 하우스 진(House Gin)을 증류하고 오렌지 껍질을 벗긴 후, 그 껍질을 활용합니다. 보통은 오렌지에서 착즙하여 시럽과 코디얼을 만들어 칵테일을 만들지만, 가끔 저희 소들이 특별한 간식을 먹을 때가 있습니다!
Cleo and Clementine are on the moo-ve to Marananaga!
Over the coming months before Summer 2025, our team will be building a new deck and planting a nature trail that will overlook Cleo and Clem's paddock next to Cellar Door. Visitors will have a front-row seat to enjoy taking photos of our shaggy girls and stunning views of the Seppeltsfield Road palms.
Everything should be ready for you to go on a walk to visit them by Summer, stay tuned!
Our Fold
Brutus
Brutus is a handsomely striking young bull, with a near-perfect straight back and terrific feet. Brutus is a Dun colouring, he can have multiple different colours of offspring.
Cleo
Cleo is one of our original highlanders and has been with us for many years. She's also the face of the Single Vineyard Series wine, 2021 Cleo's Block Shiraz
Clementine
Clementine is the older sister of Cleo and the boss of everyone but Brutus. She has the larger set of horns and they are much more rounded than her sister.
Patty
Patty is one of our new heifers, bought in 2024 to be a new young girlfriend for Brutus and help with Clem and Cleo being able to retire to our Marananga property.
Selma
Selma is the sister of Patty (both named after the Simpson sisters). Both her and Patty are super friendly young highlanders and love guests visiting them on vineyard tours.
Babies!
Every Spring Brutus gifts us 4 new babies, the fun of arriving to Holy Grail vineyard to find a new calf doesn't wear off. We sell our offspring to other farms every season.
FAQs
Are your cows at Cellar Door when I visit?
The main heard live at our vineyard which is private property. However, in Summer two will be moving over to Cellar Door to be able to see them when the nature trail is built.
Can I pat your Highland Cows?
By booking one of our Vineyard Experience to taste our wines at the vineyard you can meet Brutus and co. The new heifers are very friendly and usually come up to the fence to us for food, however we can not guarantee this on the day.
In Summer two of our cows, Cleo and Clem, will be able to be seen via our new walking trail. No patting or touching them will be possible.
Do you sell them?
Our Highlanders are pets to us! They live the high life and contribute to the vineyard eco system.
We do sell Brutus' offspring off every year to different farmers. Or keep one here and there!
