AEROPE

Barossa Valley/McLaren Vale Grenache

Aerope Grenache represents the pinnacle of Grenache at Two Hands Wines, our Flagship expression of one of Australia's most celebrated varieties. Inspired by the myths of ancient Greece, Aerope was a Cretan princess whose story is woven into the legends of the Trojan War. Like her namesake, this wine is graceful yet powerful, revealing remarkable depth, elegance and complexity.

Grenache has a rich history in Australia, with some of the world's oldest surviving vineyards found throughout the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale. Introduced from Spain during the mid-1800s, the variety flourished in these warm Mediterranean climates, producing wines renowned for their perfume, silky texture and remarkable sense of place. Sourced from exceptional old-vine fruit and crafted only in outstanding vintages, Aerope is our ultimate expression of Australian Grenache, balancing vibrant red fruits, savoury spice and refined structure with the pedigree to reward decades of careful cellaring.

Scores & Reviews

"Delivering great drinkability and quite serious complexity. It is a rich and decadent style of grenache with mouthfilling cherry compote, raspberry, spice and dried herb fruits plus plenty of oak in support. The fruit is then bright and fresh – more red berry fruits but now also lifted by some baked earth and tobacco complexity. There is impressive power but also balance with manicured tannins which support an extremely long finish. It’s a traditional style of Australian grenache done well with wide appeal, particularly with roast suckling pig."

Aerope | Perfect Pairings

Aerope Grenache is a rich, elegant wine with vibrant red fruit, spice, and earthy undertones, making it highly versatile for food pairings. It pairs beautifully with grilled lamb chops, duck breast, pork tenderloin, and spicy sausages, all of which complement the wine’s fruit-forward profile and fine tannins. For cheese lovers, options like Manchego and aged Gouda offer nutty, earthy flavours that enhance the wine’s complexity. Vegetarian dishes such as roasted root vegetables with thyme, grilled portobello mushrooms, and classic ratatouille match the wine’s depth and herbal notes.
