SINGLE VINEYARD SERIES

Exceptional examples of varietal definition and a unique sense of place which contributes to the complexity and personality of each wine.

We’ve been strong proponents of regionality since the early days at Two Hands, showcasing how different the Shiraz grape can be through the six wines and six regions of the Garden Series. Through the Single Vineyard Series we’re taking regionality to the next level.

Our Single Vineyard Series of wines are simply named after the block (in the inimitable Two Hands style), the road and the township they come from. We put their locations on a map so you can draw your own conclusions. In our notes we’ll show you the elevation, the vine age, the soil type and aspect.

The Single Vineyard Series are exceptional examples of varietal definition and a unique sense of place, which contributes to the complexity and personality of each wine. These are the vineyard sites that have the special X-factor. One thing is for sure; the six wines are completely unique and let their personality and style of Shiraz shine through.

Yacca Block

Perched high up on the hillside of the Eden Valley, this beautifully positioned vineyard is surrounded by ancient Yaccas. The soil here is a mix of both quartz and ironstone and the vineyard’s high altitude allows for slow ripening that leads to a very soft and elegant Shiraz.

Delve deeper into these vineyards to uncover their extraordinary qualities.

Beyond the picturesque landscapes and exquisite wines they produce, lies so many factors that set them apart. The interplay of viticulturists & terroir – the unique blend of soil, climate, and geography – lends character to each vine, infusing the wines with a distinct sense of place.

History of The Single Vineyard Series

Over the years, many of you have reached out asking about Single Vineyard wines that you remember fondly. Those special bottles that left a lasting impression. These are often our back vintage wines, recognisable by their unique labels and the stories they carry.

With our Single Vineyard Series, every wine is a reflection of a particular place and time. Because we work closely with individual growers and vineyards, some wines evolve or naturally phase out. Seasonal variations and vineyard performance mean no two vintages are ever quite the same. These are some of those unique labels.
