PICTURE SERIES

Serious wines with irreverent labelling

Every wine in the Picture Series has its own inspiration, our own take on popular culture. With some old school polaroid imagery by friend and photographer Don Brice and a quirky back label descriptor, the aim is to bring a smile to your face when you pick up the bottle, reminding you that wines should be approachable and of course… fun.

For many, the Picture Series is the introduction to Two Hands, so our first mission is to over deliver on quality. The winemaking technique and effort that goes into making a Gnarly Dudes or Angels’ Share is no different to the higher tiers of the portfolio, so these are still serious wines, with a focus on purity of fruit and sensory pleasure. We get to play with different varietals and regions here, weird and wonderful at times, and each new release gives us the chance to create a new label. Michael is the ideas man when it comes to the names, coming up with the catchy references and back stories that add to the appeal of drinking the Picture Series.

Pick your favourite, try a new one, there’s plenty to discover…

Reintroducing Yesterday's Hero

Good things happen to those who wait… We’ve decided to dust off our old Yesterday’s Hero label which hasn’t been seen since 2011, and make a 100% Grenache for The Picture Series again. Which way over delivers in every way.

With a boisterous bouquet glazed berries, earth, tobacco, dried herbs, dark cherry, lavender, dried roses and fennel. This is text book Grenache that highlights how well McLaren Vale is suited to growing it.

Wine Spectator's Top 100

Two Hands Wines has made Wine Spectator’s Top 100, for the thirteenth time in twenty years.

We are excited to share that our 2020 Sexy Beast placed number 59 in this year’s 2022 Wine Spectator Top 100 list, scoring 92 points. This is the first appearance of Sexy Beast in the Top 100, however not the first appearance for Two Hands. Our wines have appeared 13 times in the Top 100 for the past 20 years and placed 2nd in 2010 for our 2008 Bella’s Garden.

Each magnum comes individually packaged in a red Two Hands gift box; great for either keeping yourself in the cellar or as a present for someone special.

History of the Picture Series

We’re often asked—and fondly reminded about the Picture Series labels you’ve enjoyed over the years.

Over 25 years of winemaking, we’ve never been afraid to experiment with different grape varieties or have a bit of fun along the way. The Picture Series is all about that spirit, bold wines, playful labels, and a sense of adventure. Some of these are still going strong; others now live on as treasured memories in your cellar.

Here’s a look back at some of the most memorable releases our Picture Series greatest hits.
