Two Hands Samantha’s Garden Shiraz is an elegant Clare Valley Shiraz, drawn from standout parcels across this distinctive and elevated region. Within the Garden Series, Samantha’s Garden offers a brighter, finer-boned expression of Shiraz, shaped by natural acidity, subtle fruit character and the cool influence of higher vineyard sites.

This wine is produced from fruit sourced from up to three distinct Clare Valley sub-regions, each with vastly different soil profiles. The elevation of these sites helps preserve freshness and gives the wine its lively, graceful structure, while fine-grained tannins provide texture, balance and length through the palate.

In the glass, Samantha’s Garden offers bright aromatics, red and dark fruits, gentle spice and subtle savoury detail, carried by elegance and restraint rather than weight. The label’s golden yellow colour is inspired by the sea of wheat fields stretching between Adelaide and the Clare Valley, reflecting the landscape behind this refined regional Shiraz.

Tasting Notes

COLOUR | Deep concentrated purple to black hues.

AROMA | Aromas present with blue fruits, black olives, vanilla spice, dark cherries, warm bark, loganberry, cedar, backed by cracked pepper and slate.

PALATE | The fruit elegantly presents gracefully to the palate, showcasing a poised and sophisticated style of Shiraz. Clare Valley’s hallmark traits of softness and smoothness are beautifully represented here. Samantha’s Garden exudes a
gentle, caressing quality, with layers of fine, silky tannins and rich flavours of black fruits, spice, and tobacco. As the palate unfolds, the juicy fruits give way to a drier finish, culminating in a puckering dry spice finish. There’s much to admire—the
evenness of flavours and the subtle restraint present in every element. Clare Valley’s red wines exhibit a unique inner energy that demonstrates how exceptional Shiraz from a cool, elevated region can maintain both restraint and elegance. They never feel overblown or laborious on the palate. Seamlessness perfectly describes the experience, and our 2022 Samantha’s embodies this quality in abundance.

The Growing Season

After our second La Niña year in a row, the vineyards received an above average winter rainfall, we then progressed into a very mild spring and an equally mild summer with only one day recorded over 40°C. Due to slightly later flowering, the vines were set up to mature at a slower than usual pace, this put the start of vintage back around 3 weeks on average, these mild ripening conditions allowed for slower than usual favour development, this matched with lower yield across the board has resulted in another quality harvest.

Vinification

WINEMAKING | Crushed and fermented in a five tonne open top fermenter with regular pump overs (twice daily) to control fermentation, extract
colour, flavour and tannins.

Average time ‘on skins’ was 10 days before the fermented juice was drained to tank and the pressings combined. The wine was then racked to barrel, where malolactic fermentation took place.
Samantha’s Garden was bottled unfined and unfiltered.

MATURATION | Aged for 16 months in 2-4 year old French oak hogsheads, with up to 20% new French oak.

"The 2022 Samantha’s Garden Shiraz is minty and layered with graphite, blueberry, pressed flowers and crushed rocks. The palate is inky, infused with pulverized tannin and plum skin acidity. Perhaps not as complex as the Lily’s or Bella’s, but it’s made of the same concentrated, succulent stuff. A family thread runs between, despite the difference in regions. 14.2% alcohol, sealed under Diam.
Drink Date: 2025 – 2032"
