My Hands

Crafted to Perfection by Two Hands Wines
A Rare and Exceptional Release of Barossa Valley Shiraz

Representing only the very best barrels of our A+ classified Shiraz, My Hands has been released 9 times to date.

Six months after vintage, a selection of barrels from our best parcels of fruit are carefully assessed, looking for the finest cuvee and given a classification grade associated with its place in the Two Hands portfolio. With this focus on detail, it means only the best barrels make it through and quality is maintained even in the toughest vintages, albeit at lower quantities.

This wine is handpicked during barrel classification as being truly extraordinary and worthy of its own unique label and bottling. Establishing this as the most premium (and limited) wine ever produced by Two Hands.

I pinch myself everyday… to be involved in such a creative pursuit, to be tested on every level, knowing when to push and knowing when not to push, to take the time and believe in the vineyards and barrels. I am sure that in every winemakers’ life they make a wine and one day taste it from barrel or tank and think that it is something very special

‘My Hands’ is derived from the dialect of the Aboriginal Overland Corner Tribe. It translates to Marananga, where the Two Hands Winery and Cellar Door are located.

THE WINE ADVOCATE

REVIEW BY JOE CZERWINSKI

99 POINTS
“A special selection of Shiraz from the Holy Grail vineyard in Seppeltsfield, the 2016 My Hands is an infrequently made, ultra-luxe offering. If you have to ask the price…. After two years in French oak hogsheads (and another couple in bottle prior to release), it’s extravagantly perfumed, loaded with scents of vanilla, cinnamon and cedar, yet placed in near-perfect balance with notes of blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. It could be your grandmother’s mixed-berry crumble but with an added savory edge that includes hints of black olives and dark coffee. Full-bodied and plush, yet structured, this is a rich, velvety wine on the palate, yet one that doesn’t sacrifice length or longevity for immediate pleasure—like the juxtaposition of sweet and savory flavors, they’re somehow able to coexist and remain harmonious throughout.” – JC

VINOUS

Review by Angus Hughson

97 POINTS
“This 2016 Shiraz My Hands from Barossa has an opaque color and is super impressive thanks to its blend of raw power and subtlety. Coal fire, roasted meat, soy sauce, and dried herb aromas draw you in over a rich chocolate and blackberry bed blanketed by fine mocha oak. The great density of dark berry flavors follows with dark earthy aged tones just beginning to emerge, although the overall impression is still its youth. Beautifully textured with significant manicured tannins already well integrated, it finally delivers a long, highly complex finish. It feels like it is close to peak but will remain there for a decade or more.” – AH

On the eve of the 2005 release in 2010 our Proprietor MT wrote:
“After years in the making I am pinching myself that we are finally in a position to release it. Firstly the wine is breathtaking, made from a single vineyard, kept separately and aged for 38 months in some of our favourite oak. The bottles were made in France and freighted to the Napa Valley to be etched: special 58 mm corks were hand selected and the wine was bottled. Some 18 months later we have commissioned the solid steel and polished caps. All in all it’s been an adventure. I am just thrilled with the result.” MT
