The cold weather is still hanging around but as the days slowly get longer and blossoms begin to flower on the almond and fruit trees, thoughts drift to Spring and the coming growing season.
In this edition you will find updates from Team Two Hands on what’s happening around the winery, vineyard and the latest from the cellar door team. Coming off the back of a great review in the recent 2024 Halliday Wine Companion, the 2021 Twelftree Adams Road Grenache is our Wine of the Month. If you haven’t had a chance to try this wonderful wine, then why not order some in your next mixed pack. Need suggestions on what is drinking well? Drop us a line and one of our friendly staff will be sure to help. Contact us on (08)8568 7900 or at mail@twohandswines.com.
As always, please enjoy this edition of Instinctively Curious and we look forward to seeing you at the cellar door or one of our events soon.
WINERY
In the winery Richard, Kennedy and the team working on our upcoming 2022 and 2023 releases. Most of our 2023 reds have now gone through the process of malolactic fermentation, an important process in winemaking where the harder, naturally present malic acid is converted to the softer lactic acid resulting in a rounder, smoother mouthfeel.
At a recent in-house tasting we had the chance to taste every seperate block from our Holy Grail vineyard from the 2023 vintage, 26 different wines! It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it.
The reds from 2023, even at this very early stage, look very good and we can’t wait to eventually pull a cork on those wines and share them with you.
VINEYARD
Peter and his team have been busy in the vineyard and have now completed the important work of winter pruning. Weeding, mulching and vineyard preparation are now the order of the day as we begin to prepare for the next season and set the vines up for a great 2024 harvest.
In other news, we will soon begin the exciting process of establishing a new block on our Branson Coach House vineyard. Whilst it will be several years until we see the results from this work, we will keep you updated as we prepare the site and plant the new, young vines.
CELLAR DOOR
Brutus Bar is coming back in October!
Our renovated Spitfire caravan/wine bar “Brutus” will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from the third weekend in October for you to enjoy a glass of wine and platter of local produce in the courtyard at cellar door.
Join us from midday October 21st for our season launch event, Brutus, Beats and The Bearded Cook, with a delectable menu created by a fantastic Barossa based food vendor.
We always recommend booking your preferred tasting experience in order to avoid disappointment. Follow THIS LINK to book your experience, we can’t wait to see you!
