INSTINCTIVELY CURIOUS – March News 2023

Two Hands Wines Newsletter

Vintage 2023 is almost upon us! We were expecting to begin picking our first grapes this week, but the rain and cooler weather we’ve had recently have delayed things by a few more days.

Needless to say, Richard and his team are getting antsy and are ready to get to work making what we expect will be some great wines. In the meantime whilst we wait for some sunshine, cast your mind back to last years vintage with the yearly report written by our Proprietor Michael Twelftree.

2022 VINTAGE REPORT

We mentioned previously that 2023 will be a packed calendar and if you have checked out our Calendar of Events recently you will notice more events are being added all the time.

On the 25th March we will be saying ‘Farewell to Summer” at the cellar door. Join us for an afternoon relaxing in the courtyard at our Brutus wine bar with a glass of your favourite Two Hands wine and a curated selection of special international wines. Local restaurant Asian Tucker will be there with a great menu featuring Bao Buns and Banh Mi (yum!). Click the above image to learn more & book a table!

Two Hands vintage festival Barossa Valley 2023

For a more serious look at the Two Hands portfolio tickets are available to our Barossa Vintage Festival event on Saturday, April 22nd. Join Michael Twelftree for a special tasting at the Barossa Cellar and hear the story of Two Hands and our wines from Michael himself. Tickets available via the Barossa Vintage Festival website by clicking the above image.

Two Hands Wines 2022 Sexy Beast
Great news for fans of Sexy Beast as we have just released vintage 2022. This is text book Cabernet Sauvignon and highlights how well McLaren Vale is suited to growing it. We call it our Sexy Beast, inspired by the 2000 cult classic movie starring Sir Ben Kingsley & Ray Winstone.

2018 Barossa Winemaker of the Year!
Richard joined Two Hands in July 2019 and came with high praise from many present and past Barossa Winemakers.
He has worked in the Barossa, Rutherglen, Hunter Valley, Mudgee and the South of France. Richard has a proven ability to work with viticulturists to ensure that quality begins and occurs in the vineyard. When not in the winery, you can find him enjoying the spoils of the great outdoors – fishing, bushwalking & camping with friends and family.

Richard is always followed along by his two best pals 6 year old Ollie & 19 week old puppy Quinn, assisting the production of our wines. They are an integral part of the Two Hands family. Causing chaos with their antics around the winery, cellar door & office space… but always boosting team moral with the their cuteness.

Follow Two Hands on Spotify to vibe along to the Cellar Door playlists or vintage 2023 tracks from the winery like Ruby’s Remix.
